LU biology students share research at symposium
51ĀŅĀ×ās science students continue to have great opportunities to share the research they conduct at LU.
Two LU biology majors recently presented at the Riveredge Student Research Symposium held at the Riveredge Nature Center in Saukville, Wis.
Junior Gretchen Augustine presented a poster entitled "Effects of Aqueous and Dietary Exposures of Trifluoroacetate on Reproduction and Growth in Daphnia magna" and senior Livy Heling gave a research talk entitled āImaging Voltage to Study Microcircuit Contributions to Short-Term Plasticity in Mossy Cells in the Dentate Gyrus."
Heling was awarded third place for her talk, for which she took home a cash prize.
Both sessions included undergraduate and graduate students from the area, including those from UW-Madison, UW-Milwaukee and UW-Stevens Point.
