LGBTQ Color Run

Lakeland will be having its first color run on April 27 beginning at 11 a.m. in Grether Woods behind Lakeland. This event, organized by a group of three Lakeland students enrolled in a Social Justice Initiative course, aims to provide fun, engaging ways to educate our campus about LGBTQ+ history, current events and issues faced by queer people.

The run will take place on the wooded trails behind Lakeland, where participants will visit six stations along the route. These stations will cover key topics related to LGBTQ+ education, including basic information about queer people, current events, landmark legal cases and statistics on LGBTQ+ issues.

Similar to Fresh Check day, students will need to attend four of the six stations and receive a stamp from each of the four stations to get a convocation credit. Students who register before the April 16 registration deadline will receive a free T-shirt. There will also be free prizes and a photo station at the event.
