Madeleine Wattenberg holds a PhD in poetry and a graduate certificate in women, gender and sexuality studies from the University of Cincinnati. She also received an MFA in poetry from George Mason University and a BA in English and philosophy from Centre College. Her debut poetry collection, I/O, was selected by Billy Collins as a finalist for the Miller Williams Poetry Prize and published by University of Arkansas Press in 2021. Her poetry appears in journals including , , , Fairy Tale Review, Mid-American Review, , Best New Poets and Poetry Daily. She has served as an editor for numerous literary journals and received awards from the Academy of American Poets and the . Her scholarship focuses on ecopoetics, queer ecocriticism and feminist poetics.
