Lakeland preps for Saturday Commencement ceremonies

51ÂÒÂ× will award degrees to nearly 700 students this Saturday, May 7, at the institution’s 160^th commencement.

Lakeland will award 695 degrees as part of the ceremony, including 437 undergraduates and 258 graduate students. LU is holding three in-person ceremonies in the Wehr Center on Lakeland’s main campus:

• 10 a.m. – Kellett School graduate student ceremony.
• 1 p.m. – Kellett School undergraduate ceremony.
• 4 p.m. – Traditional undergraduate ceremony.

Each ceremony can be watched live at . The ceremonies will also be recorded for on-demand viewing at the same link beginning later on May 7.

Students getting degrees Saturday took classes at Lakeland’s main campus in Sheboygan County, through seven centers located throughout Wisconsin and/or through online programming.

Speakers at the three ceremonies are:

• Ann McClain Terrell, president of the National Association for the Education of Young Children, 10 a.m.
• Ken Leinbach, executive director of the Urban Ecology Center, 1 p.m.
• Richard V. Poirier, president and CEO of Church Mutual Insurance Company, 4 p.m.

All three speakers will receive a Lakeland honorary Doctor of Humane Letters.
