The mission of the 51ĀŅĀ× Counseling Center is to provide holistic support to traditional Sheboygan campus students as they develop emotionally, socially, academically, and spiritually, in accordance with 51ĀŅĀ×ās mission and values. Alex Liosatos, LPC - Director of Counseling Services and Campus Wellness
I have worked at 51ĀŅĀ× since 2012: as an adjunct instructor, a campus counselor and intern supervisor, and since 2018, as the Director for Counseling Services. I graduated from the Master of Arts in Counseling (MAC) program at 51ĀŅĀ× in 2010. I also have an undergraduate degree (BScEcon) from the University of Wales (UK) and a Master's in International Affairs (MAIA) from Ohio University.
My counseling approach is holistic, whereby mind, body, and spirit are considered essential to the healing process. I often include techniques and strategies from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and incorporate mindfulness practices to promote self-awareness and self-knowledge. I specialize in anxiety disorders, stress management, depression, spiritual issues (religious and secular), and adjustment disorders. I'm also a yoga teacher (RYT-200) and have a certification in Life Force Yoga which integrates yoga/breathing techniques and mood management.
You can email me to schedule an appointment, liosatosa@lakeland.edu, 920-565-1034 ext. 2388
I'm available from 9 a.m. ā 5 p.m., Mondays through Fridays.
Staci Haley, LPC, CSAC - Campus Counselor
I have worked at 51ĀŅĀ× since August 2025 as a Campus Counselor. I graduated from University of Wisconsin Whitewater's Counselor Education Master's Program in 2020, with a specialty in Clinical Mental Health and an emphasis in trauma and substance use. I also graduated from UW-Whitewater as an undergraduate in 2017, with a major in psychology and a minor in criminal justice. While pursuing my undergraduate degree I was a 4-year college athlete, playing on the UW-Whitewater women's volleyball team.
My counseling approach is eclectic, due to an understanding that we as humans are complex and have many aspects of what makes us who we are. I work with you to evaluate yourself as a whole, and determine aspects of this whole that may need further nurturing and care. I take a person-centered approach, with the focus on you being the expert on your own experience, and me being here to guide, direct, evaluate, challenge and untangle alongside you to evaluate where dysregulation or disfunction may be happening within your day to day. I practice under a mental health license (LPC - Licensed Professional Counselor) as well as a substance use (CSAC - Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor) license. Being dual-licensed allows me to work with you on evaluating current distress in your life that may be related to the use of alcohol and other drugs, as well as mental health concerns. I specialize in substance use disorders, depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, stress management, trauma work, and have a clinical background working in crisis settings and in crisis counseling.
I look forward to working with you and helping you find balance in your life, however that may be needed.
To schedule an appointment, you can email me directly at HaleyS@lakeland.edu or call at 920-565-1034 ext 2387 (with email as preferred way of scheduling)
I am available from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday - Thursdays and 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. on Fridays.

The link below will take you to a menu of screenings that you can do by yourself, created by Mental Health America. The options include depression, anxiety, eating disorders, addictions, and ADHD. Note that the screenings are not monitored and are completely anonymous. Screenings are just a snapshot of your current symptoms and are not a diagnostic tool. If you wish to discuss or explore the results you can contact the counseling center to make an appointment or to get help with a referral.
In addition to counseling, the Center offers the following services:
The peer support providers (PSPs) are trained through NASPA, a national student affairs organization.
PSP sessions are completely confidential and are provided at no cost to students. Up to four 45-minute sessions per concern. We use doxy.me, a secure clinical platform, no download necessary. Just click a link and your PSP will join you at the appointed time.

Meet the Peer Supporter
Nariah Scott
Hi, I'm Nariah! I am the Graduate Assistant and Peer Support Provider for Lakeland's Counseling Center. I graduated from 51ĀŅĀ× in May 2025 with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology, and a minor in Diversity Studies. I am deeply passionate about mental health and committed to making a positive impact in the lives of others. I am now pursuing a Master's in Clinical Counseling, as I am eager to expand my knowledge and skills in order to support individuals on their mental health journeys.
My academic background and dedication to diversity and inclusion have shaped my empathetic and client-centered approach. I believe in the power of listening, connection, and creating safe spaces for healing and growth.
I also serve as a Mental Health Professional for Elevate Mobile Crisis in Sheboygan.
Outside of work and academics, I find comfort and relaxation in the simple joys of life. I enjoy being in bed binge-watching my favorite TV shows, and I often spend time by Lake Michiganāwatching the water and listening to music, which brings me a sense of peace and reflection. I'm also a big foodie.
LUSI is staffed by graduate students in the MAC program, offering the same non-clinical support for all center and online students. Online only.
